Guided Tours of Thoedore Roosevelt Birthplace, New York

The birthplace of 26th U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt is located at 28 East 20th Street in New York City, and is an official United State National Historic Site. This classic New York City brownstone has been preserved in its original Victorian style. Visitors to the site can step inside the childhood home of Teddy Roosevelt and get a taste of what Gilded Age life was like.  All bedrooms contain original period furniture pieces, and the ground floor of the brownstone has been converted into a museum that holds various items from Teddy Roosevelt;s life. 

Anyone can stop by the site, but in order to get a full tour, visitors must sign up for a guided tour with a park ranger. Tours are available on the hour starting at 10 AM and with the last tour starting at 4 PM.  Latecomers will not be accepted and will have to wait for the next tour.  Tours are limited to 15 people each and take approximately 30 minutes. If you have a group of 10 or more who wants to see the site, you will need to call the National Park Service at (212) 260-1616 to reserve a special tour with a ranger. There is a nominal fee for the tour.  The site is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
