Get off at any one of these stops and explore at your own pace, and when the next bus comes around, show your pass and continue your tour of New York. The Lincoln Center, shown here, is just one of the stops along the way

When people think of a way to define America, New York is one of the first cities to come to mind.  With the diverse sampling of cultures and people, it is fitting that New York signifies the changing face of America.  From the bustling sidewalks to the tucked away treasures, New York offers a chance to experience one of the most famous and cherished cities in America.

TOURS:
Visitors to New York can choose from a variety of tours to get to know the city.

  • For the 'independent traveler', the Loop Tours offer the ability to hop-on/hop-off at over 35 attractions in a 48 hour timeframe. Guests can choose from Brooklyn (sites include: Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Antique Furniture District...), Harlem Gospel (sites include: A Gospel church service, The Apollo Theater...), The Essential NY (sites include: Central Park, Lincoln Center...) All-Loop, or a Land and Air Tour (All Loop plus a helicopter ride!).
  • The Manhatten Comprehensive Motorcoach Tour provides sightseeing, a tour of the UN, lunch and a ferry to Ellis Island.  Visitors can even take in the Manhattan skyline from the water on lunch and dinner cruises like NY Classic Spirit Cruises and NYC Spirit City Cruises.

SHOPPING:

  • Madison and Fifth Avenues:  Fashion fanatics are well aware of the shopping along Madison and Fifth Avenues
  • Woodbury Common:  For designer shopping without spending a fortune, this area offers over 220 brand-name outlets, including Armani, Coach, Gucci, Calvin Klein, and more!

SITES & DINING:
New York is home to some of the most celebrated strips and squares.

  • Madison Square Garden invites only the premier entertainers to perform for its citizens and visitors, plus it also offers sports fans the chance to catch their favorite New York team:  the Liberty, the Knicks, or the Rangers.
  • Central Park:  A vacation to New York would not be complete without visiting Central Park or paying tribute to the Statue of Liberty standing protectively over New York's Harbor.
  • Empire State Building Observatory:  A visit here will seal in the memory of the New York skyline.  The combinations and choices are endless.  But the fact is New York will weave a spell over you and make your time there enchanted and fulfilling and leave your heart longing for more.
  • The Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum is an educational and enjoyable experience.  Discover the history of this National Historic Landmark onboard the aircraft carrier.
  • Times Square will provide you with endless dining and theater options.  Here you'll find "Restaurant Row," and Planet Hollywood.
  • Broadway is a must when visiting New York.  Broadway hits from Rent, The Musical to Oklahoma, to The Producers, to the critically acclaimed Hairspray, are just a few of the playbills floating around the city.

If one exhausts the possibilities of Broadway, just a little off the road are the smaller theatres and productions with hidden gems waiting to be discovered.  From Shakespeare in the Park to the experimental percussion theatre, featuring Stomp, there is something for everyone.

Empire State Building Observatory
The night I was there, a mist rolled in until finally we were encompassed by it. My husband & I were the only two left on the deck as they were waiting for it to dissipate before anyone else came up. More romantic than any movie has produced.

Essential New York Tour by Gray Line (ENC)
One of the buses had a broken air conditioner, other than that the tours were great, would recommend to anyone. Very worth the experience.
