Spring in New York City
As the weather becomes warmer and grass becomes greener, spring becomes an ideal time to visit New York City and experience attractions and activities in the mild weather that springtime brings.
While sports enthusiasts will look forward to the return of championship baseball to Yankee and Shea stadiums in the spring, those with a green thumb will enjoy the parks and botanical gardens coming alive with greenery and color. Fleet Week Every May, thousands of soldiers gather together during Fleet week to entertain and educate guests of the event. In the past, thousands of soldiers have participated in the event that has been hosted since 1984, featuring military demonstrations, displays, and the opening of participating ships to the public. If you attend Fleet Week, you'll meet many of the navy, marine corps, and coast guard soldiers who serve the United States every day. Toast of the Town Wine enthusiasts will enjoy the May event Toast of the Town. In the past, New Yorkers and visitors have been able to sample over 500 wines. In addition to 500 wines, there have been dishes presented from 30 different New York City restaurants. Wineries that have participated in the past include Altazor, Barossa Valley Estates, Beringer Blass, Jacob's Creek, Korbel, Sincerity, and more. Test your wine tasting skills, enjoy fine dining, and "toast the town" at Toast of the Town. Tribeca Family Festival In May, the Tribeca Family Festival provides family entertainment; in the past, the Tribeca Family Festival has presented popular family films and animated features from around the world. Also in correlation with the Family Festival is the annual Street Fair that involves games, crafts, performances, storytelling, and appearances by popular children's characters. In New York City, spring is the perfect time to visit. During this special time, there are activities for children, families and adults surrounded by beautiful landscaping and the relaxing springtime breeze.
