Finian's Rainbow made its Broadway premiere in 1947 and has returned to New York at the St James Theatre. Finian's Rainbow was written by Yip Harburg and Fred Saidly, with lyrics by Yip Harburg and the music by Burton Lane. The charming and timeless music creates humorous songs to tell the story about an Irish dreamer and his headstrong daughter.

They are faced with many obstacles between their newly adopted land, a bigoted southern senator, a credit catastrophe, a pesky leprechaun, and a difficult love affair. The show creates a fun way of teaching important life lessons, including issues of racial tolerance, social equality, people living beyond their means, and being happy with the simple things in life.
