Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Enjoy the all new revival of the stage production "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof". This all-star, all-African American production opens in March 2008 and will be directed by Debbie Allen. Terrence Howard will be making his Broadway debut as Brick, alongside stage veterans James Earl Jones (Big Daddy), Phylicia Rasha (Big Mama), and Anika Noni Rose (Maggie). "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" revolves around a Southern family in crisis. The wife (Big Mama) has escaped a childhood of poverty to marry the wealthy Brick (Big Daddy) and is enduring a unfulfilling marriage. Brick is an aging football hero who neglects his wife and spends his time in the bottle ever since the death of his friend Skipper. Big Daddy's brother attempts to gain control of the family fortune, infuriating Big Mama, especially as Big Daddy does nothing to stop him. The play shows the entire family at dinner together as each of the relatives try to show themselves in the best light so as to recieve a large share of Big Daddy's wealth as he is dying from cancer.
