A Little Night Music

A Little Night Music is a Stephen Sondheim Classical Musical starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Angela Lansbury. The setting for the story is in a weekend country house in Sweden at the turn of the century. It focuses on the witty and wildly romantic life of the elegant actress Desiree Armfeldt and the spider's web of sensuality and desire that seems to surround her.

The story is about a middle aged lawyer, Fredrik Egerman, who is in search of love and sex. He spends most of the show married to his teenage trophy wife, Anne, who refuses intimacy with him. So of course, his eyes than begin to wander and he ends up renewing a relationship with Desiree. Meanwhile, Desiree is also in a relationship and seeing yet another married dragoon, the Count Carl Magnus. After the passionate weekend he and Desiree spent in the country chateau, Fredrik and the Count enter a duel. In the midst of it all, the son, Henrik, and Anne, Fredrik's wife, end up falling in love.
