New Orleans' Mardi Gras celebration has long been held the world over as one of the wildest celebrations of the year, and with the 12 Day Mardi Gras RV Rally you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the revelry for a time that can give you not only an up-close view of Mardi Gras, but an eye-opening experience in New Orleans, LA as well! Included in this particular package, you'll view 14 different parades and gain admission to a Mardi Gras party, Plantation Tour, Natchez Steamboat Cruise, New Orleans School of Cooking and numerous bus tours. Read on, to learn in-depth exactly where this adventure will take you! Day 1 - During your first day in The Big Easy you'll attend an informal reception and orientation to help you become acquainted with your guide and the other individuals that will join you throughout the adventure. This is a great way to ease you into the party atmosphere that will undoubtedly begin to prevail. Day 2 - On day two, you'll board a luxury bus and your guide will take you three separate parades to help jump start the Mardi Gras spirit! The parades set to be included in the day's itinerary are the Krewe of Carrollton Parade, King Arthur & Merlin Parade, and Bards of Bohemia Parade. Day 3 - From here, you'll momentarily shift focus from the Mardi Gras and experience a wide variety of all that New Orleans has to offer travelers. Again, you'll travel by luxury bus as you take part in a comprehensive New Orleans City Tour, visit the famed above ground cemeteries, stroll St. Charles Avenue, break for brunch at the Court of Two Sisters, journey through the French Quarter along a French Quarter Walking Tour, and finally visit Jackson Square. Day 4 - Your journey through the general cityscape of New Orleans will continue on day four. The day begins with the Plantation Country Tour and Oak Alley Plantation Tour to explore the stately mansions of the South. Come lunch, you'll be able to enjoy a meal at the famous Nottoway Plantation Dining Room before touring the estate (the largest plantation in the South). Day 5 - After all the running of the past couple days you'll likely need to catch your breath, so feel free to do so. This day will offer free time, allowing you to squeeze in any additional activities you'd like to experience while in New Orleans or even just lounge! Day 7 - Day seven will continue with the sights of Mardi Gras with a stop at Mardi Gras World! Here, you'll have the chance to watch as the final touches are put on many of the floats that will be participating in the upcoming parades. Additionally, you'll visit the New Orleans School of Cooking to pick up some Cajun cooking skills and enjoy lunch. Day 8 - As the anticipation and revelry continues to build, day eight will see you watching the ever popular Endymion Parade from a reserved private viewing stand. Always one of the more anticipated padres of Mardi Gras, this year's grand marshall for the parade is set to be none other than Kid Rock for a parade viewing that is sure to be raucous and wild! Day 9 -The fever of Mardi Gras will continue to build on day nine as you take in the Okeanos, Thoth & Mid-City Parades during the day, each viewed from private viewing stands. As for evening plans, you'll stop for dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel before enjoying the Bacchus Parade from the hotel's private viewing grandstand. Day 10 - With your night of reveling in the streets just a day away, you'll have the opportunity to spend the majority of day ten preparing your Mardi Gras costume. Day 11 - On the final full day of your Mardi Gras experience you'll have the opportunity to finally cut loose to the extreme. Throughout the day, you'll have a reserved viewing stand that will serve as your home base. During the day, you'll take in parades hosted by the Krewes of Zula, Elks and Crescent City, have the opportunity to simply mingle with other party goers and witness Rex, the oldest and most prestigious of New Orleans' Mardi Gras parades. Day 12 - Finally, your eleven full days of partying and sightseeing will come to a close, leaving you with countless memories and new friends, and more than a few tales to share with the friends back home! As encompassing as Mardi Gras is it can be difficult to take in the full experience. However, with the 12 Day Mardi Gras RV Rally you'll not only experience the many aspects of Mardi Gras - from the creating of floats and costumes to parades and parties - but also gain an insightful look into New Orleans as well! |
