Longue Vue House and Gardens is a beautifully designed estate with a rich history. The mansion and gardens were owned by philanthropists Edgar and Edith Stern, and their architects and landscape architect--William Platt, Geoffery Platt, and Ellen Biddle Shipman--worked on perfecting the estate from 1939 to 1942.
When you tour the Classical Revival house and the exquisite gardens, you'll see why it took three years to build Longue Vue House and Gardens. In the house, you'll also see fine American and European art and exhibits. Also on the estate is a gift shop where you can bring some of the elegance of Longue Vue home.
