While Mardi Gras itself is on February 8th, that doesn't mean the good times have to wait until then.
If you just can't make it to New Orleans on the 8th, you can still get there and participate in the celebration. With parade dates set from January 23, 28-30, and February 1-8, the party will be nonstop.

Just make sure to get there before the 8th, because Mardi Gras won't wait around for you.
