One of the most pivotal literary festivals of its kind, the Tennessee Williams Festival in New Orleans, LA has honored the likes of Richard Ford, Michael Cunningham, Phillip Caputo, and Yusef Komunyakaa.
The highlight of the gathering is the recognition towards established and deserving authors, but what really draws people in are the theatrical events.
Sponsored by the University of New Orleans is the Tennessee Williams One-Act Play Contest along with the "Stella and Stanley Shouting Contest" in honor of the famous characters from A Streetcar Named Desire.
Other attractions include one-on-one literary workshops.
