New Orleans is a one-of-a-kind vacation spot, and therefore, offers tons of tours that are all unique in their own ways. With so many to choose from, you'll need to decide which parts of New Orleans you would like to see, and how you would like to see them. There are walking tours, minibus tours, cruises, and tours by van. You can chose to see cemeteries, swamps, the French Quarter, plantations, and more.

Combo Tours

City / Cemetery, Swamp & San Francisco Tours - With this tour, you'll see plantations, Louisiana swampland, and the city of New Orleans. Start out with a visit to a swamp that only this tour can take you to. You'll visit a privately-owned wildlife refuge located on Manchac Swamp. Experience the thrill of watching jumping alligators answering to the call of your boat's captain. Then, it's away from the raw nature of the swamp to the pampered life of the aristocrats. You'll head out to San Francisco Plantation where you'll discover one of the most ornate and decorative plantation homes in all of Louisiana. This lasts approximately 9.5 hours, it is appropriate for all ages, and it highlights the following locations: 

City/Cemetery Tours & Swamp Tour Combo - This tour is basically the same as the one above, only it doesn't include the San Francisco Plantation. This tour lasts approximately 7 hours, it is appropriate for all ages, and it highlights the following locations:

John James Audubon Riverboat Cruise & Zoo - This riverboat cruises will take you on a seven-mile narrated journey down the Mississippi River. You'll hear all about the Port of New Orleans, one of the world's most famous and currently active ports, and see sights all along the way. After the cruise, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Audubon Zoo, that features over 1,500 animals from around the word, representing over 350 species. This tour is appropriate for all ages, there is a gift shop on-site, and food and beverage are sold on board.

Paddle and Wheel Tour  - This motor coach tour will take you through New Orleans where you'll see the historic French Quarter, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cemetery #3, the Garden District, and Audubon Park. Then, you'll board the Steamboat Natchez to chug down the Mississippi River. Tours do not need to be taken consecutively, casual dress is recommended, snacks are available on the boat, it is appropriate for children ages 3 and up, and it highlights the following locations:

Swamp and Bayou Tour - The Swamp and Bayou Tour will take you on a motor coach ride across the Mississippi River. Soon you'll be cutting through the wetlands on custom swamp boat trip into the famous swamps and bayou of Louisiana. This tour is narrated, and you'll learn how the Cajuns created gumbo out of soup and other amazing local facts. After your boat ride, you'll sit down to a wildlife show that features snakes, snapping turtles, raccoons, nutria, and alligators. This tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours, casual dress is and sunscreen are recommended, snacks will be available for purchase, and it's appropriate for children ages 3 and up.

Swamp Tour & San Francisco Plantations Tour - This tour takes you into the heart of Manchac swamp, where you'll visit a privately-owned wildlife refuge. After experiencing the thrills of the swamp, you can relax in the more luxurious surroundings of the San Francisco Plantation. Considered to be one of Louisiana's most ornate plantations, this historic site inspired the novel "Steamboat Gothic". This tour lasts approximately 6 hours, casual dress is recommended, and it's appropriate for all ages.

Swamp Tour, Laura & Oak Alley Plantation with Lunch - First you'll head out onto the waters to witness live alligators living in a privately-owned wildlife refuge on Manchac Swamp. Then, you'll head out to Oak Alley Plantation which features a quarter-mile stretch of 250+ year old oak trees that span the plantation grounds. Then, you're off to Laura Plantation, where you can learn all about the Creole culture and what life was like back in the early 1800s. This plantation is also home to the slave cabins where the original Br'er Rabbit stories were recorded, and you can see these cabins for yourself. You'll even get a taste of authentic Cajun cooking when you stop midday to grab lunch at one of the area's Cajun restaurants. This tour lasts approximately 8.5 hours, casual dress is recommended, there is a gift shop on-site, and it's appropriate for all ages.

Dinner and Lunch Cruises

Laura & Oak Alley Plantation with Lunch - This tour offers all the same things as the tour above, without the added tour of the swamp. This tour lasts approximately 6 hours, casual dress is recommended, there's a gift shop on-site, and it's appropriate for all ages.

Land Tours

Cajun Bayou Tour by Van - The Cajun Bayou Tour is a 4-hour tour that takes you on a drive through Cajun Country, narrated by a guide who explains everything about the Cajun people and their history. Then, you will board a boat and actually set out on the waters of the bayou and cypress swamps. Here, your Cajun boat captain (who is also a fur trapper and alligator hunter) will acquaint you with native animals, plants and reptiles.

City/Cemetery Tour -  You'll visit and learn about New Orleans' most famous places like the bustling Jackson Square, the fabulous French Market, and the charming Garden District. You'll also get to see some of New Orleans' Cities of the Dead. This tour lasts approximately 3 hours, it's appropriate for all ages, and it highlights the following locations:

Deluxe Plantation Tour by Van - Tours By Isabelle offers this full-day tour, which includes lunch, and takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city and back in time to a more elegant era. The first stop is Oak Alley Plantation, which is famous for its gorgeous grounds. Then it's on to Madewood Plantation in Napoleonville. Here you have a wonderful guided tour and luncheon in the mansion's elegant dining room. You'll also receive a guided tour of Nottoway Plantation, and drive-by views of other plantations.

Grand Tour by Van - This full-day tour begins with the Cajun Bayou Tour, which includes a narrated boat tour of Bayou Boeuf, as well as plenty of scenery and wildlife. Then, you are treated to the West Bank Plantation Tour. This gives you up-close looks at two gorgeous plantations, as well as drives you by three others. You'll also receive a Cajun lunch at Oak Alley Plantation's Cajun restaurant.

Laura & Oak Alley Plantation TourYou'll visit Oak Alley and Destrehan Plantations and learn the rich history that surrounds these two magnificent Louisiana locations. Destrehan Plantation performs period craft demonstrations daily, including indigo dyeing and carpentry techniques. This tour lasts approximately 5 hours, casual dress is recommended, there is a gift shop on-site, and it's appropriate for all ages.

New Orleans City Tour by VanThe City Tour, given by Tours By Isabelle, is a 3-hour tour that covers 45 miles throughout New Orleans. You will see The French Quarter, St. Louis Cemetery #3, City Park, Lake Pontchartrain, and more.

Oak Alley Plantation TourThe beautifully preserved, 1839 plantation features Greek-revival style architecture, and a quarter mile of centuries-old oak trees. This National Historical Landmark is located on 25 acres of sprawling land and features a gift shop and Oak Alley Restaurant. Casual dress is recommended, food is available (but not included) at the on-site restaurant, there's a gift shop on the premises, and it's appropriate for children ages 3 and up.

San Francisco Plantation Tour - This galleried home was built in 1837 and is the only authentically restored home found on Old River Road. This is such a distinctive plantation that it inspired the novel "Steamboat Gothic". This tour lasts approximately 4 hours, casual dress is recommended, there's a gift shop on-site, and it's appropriate for all ages.

Southern Comfort Cocktail Tour - Southern Comfort, the Hurricane, the Hand Grenade, Sazerac and Pimm's Cup are all New Orleans inventions.  Walk through the French Quarter and listen to the classic stories of famous bars and restaurants. You'll get to go visit the wine cellar and private dining room of the city's oldest restaurant in a behind-the-scenes visit. This tour lasts approximately 2 hours, casual dress is recommended, must be 21 or older to take this tour, a "goodie" bag is included in the price but alcoholic beverages are not.

Super City graylinabsour - You'll see the landmarks and architecture of this fabulous city, as well as gain insight on each of the historic districts and squares.  Highlights include Jackson Square and the French Quarter, a walk through St. Louis Cemetery #3, the legends and folklore of Bayou St. John (including tales of Voodoo and pirates). This tour lasts approximately 2 hours, is appropriate for all ages, and the highlights include:

West Bank Plantation Tour - This 5-and-a-half-hour tour gives you up-close looks at two gorgeous plantations, as well as drives you by three others. You will be driven by Whitney, Josephine and Evergreen Plantations, as your guide explains what makes these plantations important. A guided tour of Oak Alley Plantation will follow. Then you will visit Laura Plantation, a Creole plantation with historic slave quarters and sugar cane fields.

Walking Tours

Cemetery & Gris Gris Tour - This tour will take you through the most haunted cemetery in New Orleans, and possibly the world. Welcome to St. Louis Cemetery No. 1. Here you will see where Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau is buried and learn about the legend that surrounds her and her tomb. The guide will explain the above-ground burial system in New Orleans and tombs of the different "Societies." Then you'll visit Armstrong Park and Congo Square. At the end of the tour, you'll receive your very own "gris gris" bag. Tours last approximately 2.5 hours and casual dress is recommended.

Crescent City Nights- A Walking Tour - On this walking tour, you'll literally get a taste of New Orleans traditions, from world-class cuisine and heartwarming jazz to cafe au lait and beignets. Start the evening out with a three course meal at Tujague's Restaurant, a favorite restaurant of both visitors and locals since the 1850s. When you're done dining, it's off on a short walk to a local jazz club to feed your soul on the music that put this area on the map. You'll be treated to a complimentary cocktail while listening to the talented musicians working their magic. Then you're off to Bourbon Street, where you'll learn the history and legends that surround the area. Your evening will wind down when you head to CafĂ© du Monde for a snack of cafe au lait (chicory coffee) and beignets (French doughnuts). French Quarter Walking Tour - Take a walk through the French Quarter and visit the oldest building in the Mississippi Valley at the Ursuline Convent.  See the workings of their herb garden--the same garden that supplies Bella Luna Restaurant with fresh herbs on a daily basis.  Stop at the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum and wander their herb garden to uncover the plants used in traditional medicinal remedies and treatments. Tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours and casual dress is recommended.

Garden District Walking Tour -Come explore the Garden District, a stunningly beautiful area of New Orleans. On the pages of many books, colorful and poetic writings can be found regarding this area of New Orleans, and when you come, you'll see why. Hear fascinating stories about local author Anne Rice, who introduced so many to the mystery and beauty of New Orleans in her novels. Tour-goers are provided with a wireless headset that insures you can hear the guide clearly through a small earpiece. Then it's off to Lafayette Cemetery where you'll learn about the unique New Orleans above-ground burial system. You'll also see the residence where Jefferson Davis died in the late 1800s and the oldest house in the area, Toby's Corner. You'll even stop off at a local cafe and enjoy a refreshment. As the notes of the custom-made calliope drift through the air, you embark on your voyage from the French Quarter, heart of Creole country. Stop in the main dining room to hear "Duke Heitger and the Steamboat Stompers" as they play jazz music especially for you.
