Six Flags New Orleans

If you're visiting New Orleans with the family, you'll find plenty of excitement at Six Flags New Orleans. Not only does this theme park have great rides for everyone (ranging from mild to wild), you'll find shows, games, shopping and dining along the way. At Six Flags New Orleans, there are exciting coasters and attractions for every member of the family!

Thrills and Chills...
The newest attraction is SpongeBob SquarePants: The Ride. This new ride simulator features an exciting 10-minute film based on the Nickelodeon cartoon hit and starts out with a video introduction by SpongeBob SquarePants.

The newest roller coaster is Batman: The Ride. You'll soar up 105 feet in the sky at 50 mph through hairpin turns, corkscrews and two loops with nothing but air beneath your dangling feet. If that isn't fast enough for you, you can reach 65 mph on Mega Zeph or flip on the inverted loops of the Zydeco Scream. The Jester has over 1,900 feet of track and three inversions. Or you can slowly break into coaster riding on the milder Road Runner's Express.

For a stomach-dropping fall, try taking a drop from the tallest point in the park on Sonic Slam or free-falling 180 feet from the Skycoaster. If you'd rather go a little slower and just twirl, try the Dizzy Lizzy, Krazy Krewe or Voodoo Volcano. Or if you'd rather go even slower, take a leisurely spin on the Mardi Gras Menagerie carousel or the Big Easy Ferris Wheel.

Lights, Cameras, and Action...
If you'd rather keep your feet on the ground altogether, there are lots of concerts to check out. American Rock! is a high-energy, rock concert-style show that belts out great rock songs. Gator's Hot Country performs current, upbeat country songs that you can enjoy while eating at Gator LaCroix's Dockside Caf'. If you're looking for a pop concert, New Image is just the ticket. This party takes place in the Mardi Gras section of the park in Jocco's Mardi Gras Caf'.

In the Looney Tunes theatre you can join in with the We Got the Beat show and dance with the Looney Tunes characters. You can even shake hands with Taz, Tweety and Bugs Bunny after the show or at scheduled times on Main Street.

For some high action, step into Gotham City Hall and see what Wayne Industries is doing to battle evil in Batman Thrill Spectacular, a full production, Hollywood-style live-action show.

Special Events...
Throughout the year, there are also special concerts and festivals, including the Great Gospel Gathering, Joy Fest, contemporary Christian music concert; Six Flags Community Fest and the Six Flags Block Party.

If you happen to visit Six Flags New Orleans in October you're in for a spooky treat! This is when the park is magically transformed into a huge Halloween celebration complete with a Haunted House, a variety of spine-tingling shows and FANTASY, a premier magic show. Wear your costume and join in with all the Looney Tunes characters in their costumes.

If you're bringing the kids to Six Flags New Orleans, they'll want to come back for more of the fun - tomorrow, and the next day, and... Well, you may want to stay at a hotel nearby; try the Quality Inn & Suites St. Charles, which is only seven miles away.
