Discover the mystery and magic of the Creole people that made the French Quarter their own.

When visiting New Orleans, you will not want to miss the historic French Quarter. There are approximately 40,000 buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places in New Orleans, and many of these architectural jewels can be found right here in the 120 blocks of the French Quarter. You will be enchanted by the fountains and gardens as well as all of the 17th century architecture -- the old-world atmosphere will have you stepping back in time to the days when French was the only language and life was quiet and easy in this Mississippi River Valley town.

New Orlean's French Quarter Walking Tour

When you take the French Quarter Waking Tour, you will visit the oldest building in the Valley -- the Ursuline Convent dates back to 1745. You will enjoy the visual effects of their working herb garden, which supplies fresh herbs to the Bella Luna Restaurant daily. Be sure to stop off at the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum and amble through their herb gardens, where you will learn how these wonderful plants have been used in traditional remedies and treatments. See displays of potions used in Voodoo rituals, rare medicines and old remedies.

New Orlean's Off the Beaten Path Tour

Our Off the Beaten Path Tour will take you behind the scenes of the French Quarter, including the neighborhood where jazz legend Louis Armstrong grew up. The Southern Comfort Cocktail Tour will show you the French Quarter at night. As you walk through the Quarter you will hear stories about the famous bars and restaurants and get a behind-the-scenes look at the wine cellar and private dining room of the city's oldest restaurant. Find out if you favorite drink was created in this famous part of New Orleans.

New Orlean's Jackson Square

For family fun, you will find that Jackson Square, located in the heart of the French Quarter, has a variety of family entertainment. There is art displayed by local artists to enchant you and mule-drawn carriage rides that will delight you. Stay at the Place d'Armes Hotel located right in Jackson Square, and feel like you have stepped right into the 18th century as you look out over the exquisitely landscaped courtyard and outdoor pool. Relax and plan out all of the wonderful places that you will want to see and activities that you will want to indulge in while you are there. You are just an easy stroll away from St. Louis Cathedral, the oldest continuously active Roman Catholic Cathedral in the United States, the Cafe du Monde, and the famous Bourbon Street.

New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park

If it's jazz you like, visit The New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park located right here in the French Quarter, or take the Dinner/Jazz Cruise and Super City Tour where you can enjoy the atmosphere of the artists, shops and restaurants in the French Quarter during the day and be floated down the Mississippi River on the Steamboat Natchez in the evening, sampling some of New Orleans' delightful cuisine and listening to the soothing sounds of jazz. No matter how you choose to spend your time in the French Quarter you are guaranteed to keep this part of the south in your heart as you head home.
