Visit the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, located at the base of the Tennessee State Capitol in Downtown Nashville, for a taste of the state's rich history and natural beauty. The park stretches over 19 acres. The highlight is a unique 200-foot granite state map that features major roads, counties, rivers, and distinctive geography of Tennessee. The Rivers of Tennessee Fountains are another must-see attraction. Over 30 vertical water fountains spring out of the ground, representing all of the state's major waterways.
Other features include flying displays of the state's flags, the Walkway of the Counties (which contains time capsules from all 95 counties to be opened at the Tricentennial in 2096), the Path of Volunteers, Carillons and the Court of 3 Stars, a World War II Memorial, Civilian Conservation Corps Memorial and the Pathway of History. The Tennessee Amphitheater, a 2,000 seat venue, offers an ideal location for special events with amazing views of the State Capitol building.
