The Giants and Titans feature a team that has re-built and is now looking to take the next step versus a team that is still in transition. After Eli Manning refused to play for the Chargers after being drafted in 2004, he was quickly traded to the Giants, who've been solidly improving ever since. Of course it's questionable as to how much of an impact Manning has made on this improvement with the Giants showcasing such talent as Tiki Barber (RB), Plaxico Burress (WR), Armani Toomer (WR) and Jeremy Shockey (TE) on offense.
On the other hand, the Tennessee Ttitans may not be loaded with talent, but did pick up respectable quarterback Vince Young in the 2006 draft, and should soon have a pro-bowl quarterback on their hands. Young will definitely grow into his role with the Titans, though it may still be too soon to burden him with all the responsibility come week 12.
