Step back in time, m' lords and ladies, with the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, a four-weekend long event that brings the best of renaissance life to the hills of Tennessee. Favorite events at the festival include the jarring joust competition and the intense and entertaining combat chess match. Other events include fantastic live performances, such as hilarious Jolly Rogers Brothers, the raucous Washing Well Wenches, and much more. Minstrels and other musical performers will fill the air with the sounds of harps, dulcimers, and more.

Of course, festival food is of utmost importance, so there are plenty of turkey legs, pastries, and other delicious faire. The Tennessee Renaissance Festival is also noted as the only festival of its kind in the country that takes place on the grounds of a 12th century castle replica, Castle Gwynn.
