If this is your first visit to Nashville, you'll want to spend at least a day seeing some of the landmarks in and around the city. From historical southern plantations to the stages that made stars out of some of your favorite country music legends, you'll find that Nashville has plenty of "can't miss" sites. Here are just a few:

  • Grand Ole Opry is one of the most famous--and the longest running--country music show. Anyone from Garth Brooks to Marty Stuart can make an appearance on the Opry stage.
  • Riverfront Park is the launching point for the General Jackson Showboat and the Tennessee Fox Trot Carousel. The carousel features 36 hand carved figurines from Tennessee's rich history. The showboat offers a variety of experiences designed to meet the taste of all tourists. Enjoy a gospel brunch or an elegant evening cruise.
  • Belle Meade Plantation offers a tour of an antebellum plantation and its ten outlying buildings. Costumed guides will escort you through the grounds. Then enjoy a traditional southern feast at Martha's Plantation. After dinner move on to the Hermitage, home to the seventh president, Andrew Jackson. (You can see both plantations on the Historic Tennessee Tour.)
  • The Parthenon, located at the heart of Centennial Park, Nashville's premier urban park. The building and the Athena statue are both full-scale replicas of the Athenian originals. Inside, a huge art museum awaits! (You can see the Parthenon on the Discover Nashville tour.)
  • Ryman Auditorium, the Mother Church of Country Music and home of the Grand Ole Opry is a stop you'll definitely want to make. (You can see the Ryman Auditorium on the Discover Nashville Tour.)
  • The Country Music Hall of Fame is the perfect spot for country music fans. Interact with songwriters and musicians and see the display of country music memorabilia. It's a "must see" stop for any country music enthusiast.
  • Homes of the Stars Tour - If you're a country music fan, you should definitely take a Homes of the Stars Tour. You'll see mansions of some of country's greatest legends, including Dolly Parton, Brooks and Dunn, and Alan Jackson.
  • At Opry Mills, you'll find entertainment and dining as well as some of the best names in the retail business. More than one million square feet of space boasts everything from the Gibson Bluegrass Showcase to Bass Pro Shops.

Grand Ole Opry Country Music Show - Nashville
Fantastic show, wonderful experience. It was great to see new and old entertainers, Jimmy Dickens at 87 can still get you clapping away. The fun part is the advertising at each interval!!

Homes of the Stars Tour & Transportation
Very nice. Our driver was driving a little too fast, and hard to understand him at times, but enjoyed seeing all the stars homes.

Grand Ole Opry Country Music Show - Nashville
It was fun but most of the performers were really old-timers and their voices were not the best. The seats were good and the crowd lent a good atmosphere.
