Quick Weekend Nashville Getaway Ideas
If you only have a day or two to spend in Nashville, there are a few attractions and activities that you'll want to be sure to fit in time for.
Nashville For Everyone
- Be sure to visit the Opryland Hotel. Its grand staircases, 85-foot waterfalls, and garden atriums provide a spectacular view, and all it costs is a parking pass ($6). There are also spectacular water shows each evening, and many restaurants and shops—all under one roof.
- For a taste of Southern charm, a Historic Tennessee Tour will take you to The Hermitage, Belle Meade Plantation, and other key parts of Nashville's history.
Nashville for the Country Music Fan
- Get tickets to a show at the Grand Ole Opry. With over 75 years of country shows, it's a must-see for the country and non-country enthusiast alike. Even the nosebleed seats have a great view, thanks to the close-up television monitors. There is also a Grand Ole Opry Museum with countless collectibles to commemorate your trip.
- The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is sure to provide hours of enjoyment, with over 40,000 square feet of memorabilia and lots of live entertainment. To be certain you fit in as much as you can, try the Discover Nashville Inclusive Tour (covering Ryman Auditorium, the Tennessee State Capitol, the full-scale Parthenon replication in Centennial Park, and more) and the Homes of the Stars Tour (visiting the houses of Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, and other country stars of past and present).
Nashville for the Romantic
- Don't stay in Nashville without a ride on the General Jackson Dinner Cruise with fine dining, live entertainment, and dancing under the stars. If time is tight, there are also morning and afternoon cruises to enjoy.
- Try the Nashville Nights Tour, which covers the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Hard Rock Cafe, Second Avenue, and much more. Take in Nashville's most famous attractions with your loved one under the moonlight.
Nashville for the Family
- Picnic in Centennial Park and enjoy the large playground, local musicians, and frequent fairs and festivals. In the center of the park, visit the Parthenon, the only to-scale replication in existence, and take family photos under the 41-foot-high Athena statue.
- Enjoy the Nasvhille Zoo at Grassmere and visit with hundreds of exotic animals. New events and exhibits are constantly being added, including chances to get up close and personal with the wildlife. The kids will love The Jungle Gym, a massive community-built playground with slides, swings, and bridges galore.

Enjoyed the tour, however we were not asked if we wanted to upgrade to use the audio items when we received our tickets.

Grand Ole Opry Country Music Show - Nashville
Would have liked to have seen more time on stage fy each performer. One song by each group does not equal a performance in my book.
