You will be in for one hot night in Nashville at the International Bluegrass Music Awards 2009. This exciting event takes place on October 1 at 7:30 pm at the prestigious Ryman Auditorium and will recognize and honor some of the top names in the bluegrass industry for their outstanding achievements during the past year. The International Bluegrass Music Awards 2009 will be hosted by the Grammy-winning country music artist Kathy Mattea and the popular bluegrass band, Hot Rize, who won Entertainer of the Year at the 1990 IMBA show. This star-studded show also brings a full host of other popular bluegrass musicians. Some of the other artists making an appearance at the show include Darin and Brooke Aldridge, the Bankester Family, the Crowe Brothers, Joe Diffie, Davidson Brothers, Audie Blaylock and Redline, Gold Heart, Donna Hughes, and many others. Some of the categories the artists will be competing for include the honors of Vocal Group of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, Instrumental Group of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and many others. Stay close to the action at the International Bluegrass Music Awards by choosing lodging at one of the nearby hotels. Ryman Auditorium Self-Guided Tours

A wonderful experience! Standing on the stage, now that was 1 of the highlights for the day and I was really looking forward to doing this. This was a dream come true, to stand on the stage where so much history was made and where your favoirte performers stood. Wow, what a day to remember, and a wnderful picture for the memory.
The back stage tour was great and we had an excellent tour guide.
The 2nd highlight, was watching the matinee show. This was a bonus, we stumbled onto this event when we signed in. Excellent show and we enjoyed all the country performers, that we would never have seen on our own -- they were all right there, wow!

Wonderful event and I would recommend this to anyone who is a die hard country music fan, such as me. I learned about so many in-depth history and details, that it made the Ryman Auditorium come alive in my mind.
