Grand Ole Opry member Trisha Yearwood has a mantel full of awards to show for a monumental career that has spanned nearly two decades, including three Grammy Awards, and three Best Female Performer acknowledgements from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.

Background and Early Career

  • Trisha Yearwood was born September 19, 1964 in Monticello, Georgia. She attended Belmont University in Nashville, during which time she interned at a Music Row label. It was during this time that she befriended another country music hopeful named Garth Brooks, and the friends promised each that whoever had success first would help the other. Garth's break came first, and when he landed a full tour in 1991, he invited Trisha to come along to open the show.
  • That same year, Trisha's "She's in Love with the Boy" became a Number 1 hit. In the next three years, Trisha would release six singles, all of which shot to the Top 10. Much of the 1990s charts were dominated by Trisha's hits. After a December 10, 2005 wedding to celebrate her marriage to longtime friend Garth Brooks, Trisha returned to the charts in 2005 with "Georgia Rain."

Grand Ole Opry Induction

  • Trisha Yearwood was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry on March 13, 1999.

Trisha Yearwood at the Opry

  • Although husband Garth Brooks has receded into a much-publicized retirement, Trisha Yearwood is still quite active in the country music community, including making appearances at the Grand Ole Opry. To see if she will be at the Opry in the coming weeks, visit the VME Grand Ole Opry Blog.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
Lots of information, but I didn't have enough time to do everything, because I had so much planned. I want to return to listen to tour again and take better photos.

Grand Ole Opry Country Music Show - Nashville
Would have liked to have seen more time on stage fy each performer. One song by each group does not equal a performance in my book.

-Jerry CRABB, Durham, NC
Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
Happened to be a couple of music writers on hand to have a special show . Worth the price of admission even if you didn't go into the rest of the museum.
