The first Canadian female to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, Terri Clark brings her blend of classic and modern influences to the stage. Inducted into the Opry, Terri delivers country with the style and attitude that has earned her numerous awards and accolades, including the CCMA Fan's Choice Artist of the Year award.

Background and Early Career

• Born August 5, 1968, Terri was exposed to country music early in life; her grandparents were successful Canadian country musicians, Ray and Betty Gauthier. After graduating high school, she moved to Nashville in 1987, and started her career playing in local clubs, such Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.
• In 1994, she finally was awarded a record contract by Mercury Records and earned almost immediate success with four Top 10 hits in 1995 and 1996.

• Terri's hit, "I Just Wanna Be Mad," was the first No. 1 country hit by a female artist in more than two years. Likewise, Terri's all-girl band performance of "Girls Lie Too" was the hit of the televised CMA Awards.
