Mike Snider is a renowned musician and comedian who is regarded as one of the funniest members of the Opry. Mike's signature East Tennessee drawl and stories about his Sweetie delight Opry audiences again and again. Every once in a while they will be treated to music by Mike Snider's string band, sometimes called the best in the country.

Background and Early Career

  • Mike Snider received his first banjo at 16. By age 23 he was the National Bluegrass Banjo Champion.
    Snider first received comedic attention for his performances on TNN's Nashville Now. He then joined the cast of "Hee Haw" and made audiences roll with laughter for seven years.

Grand Ole Opry Induction

  • The legendary Minnie Pearl inducted Mike Snider into the Grand Ole Opry on June 2, 1990. He has often said that he aspires to live up to Minnie's comedic standards, and to keep her memory alive.

Grand Ole Opry Country Music Show - Nashville
To visit The Grand Ole Opry with live country music bands/artists is a must when you are in Nashvílle aswell as The Country Music Hall of Fame,The General Jackson Showboat,and the Broadway Street with Tootsies Bar among many other Country Music Landmarks.If you visit all or some of these places/events,you will surely have a good time.
