Not your typical Grand Ole Opry member, the music bug didn't bite Alan Jackson until after high school. But he's been on a roll ever since! The Georgian native joined the Opry in 1991, which is one of many career highlights.

Background and Early Career

  • Born Oct. 17, 1958, in Newnan, GA, Alan didn't start his music career until 1985, after his wife, Denise, had a chance encounter with Glen Campbell in an airport. That year, the couple moved to Nashville and Alan joined Campbell's music publishing company as a staff songwriter, while also working odd jobs to pay the bills.
  • His singing career finally took off after he was signed with Arista Records (after many rejections from about every other record label in Nashville) and he released his second single, the title track from his debut album, "Here In The Real World."

Grand Ole Opry Induction

  • Alan's unbelievably consistent career (he's recorded 44 Top 10 hits; 31 of them chart-toppers), his great relationship to his fans (he even performed at NYC's premier punk club, CBGB) and his unwavering support to traditional country music earned him membership into the Grand Ole Opry in 1991.

This was incredible! We seen so many homes - spent 3 hours up in the Brentwood hills. The tour guide was very informative of life of the stars. Seen Keith Urban - was driving right next to us. Also seen Kix wife - she waved. Very friendly folks in the Nasvhille woods!

Homes of the Stars Tour & Transportation
Our tour guide/driver was VERY educated in the country music stars' lives, homes, etc. He also knew a great deal about the other high priced homes in 3 counties which gave our trip more excitement.
