For more than 75 years, the longest-running live radio show has grown by leaps and bounds, moved to several new venues, and has never stopped offering up surprise appearances by world famous performers. Any visitor to Nashville will want to take the time to explore the past and present of the Grand Ole Opry.

Grand Ole Opry House

• The current Opry theater, adjacent to the Opryland Hotel, is the legendary radio show's fifth home since it first aired in 1925. Among its past homes is the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. In 1974, the program was moved from the Ryman to its current home, and in late 2003, the 4,400 seat auditorium was refurbished. Grand Ole Opry shows now run at the Grand Ole Opry House from March through October, and special shows are held at the Ryman Auditorium on selected dates in November through February. There are also special events during the holiday seasons.

Ryman Auditorium

• Fans can also take a self-guided tour of the Ryman Auditorium between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. The tour is wheelchair accessible, and it generally takes between one and two hours to explore the auditorium, the memorabilia and even the Ryman's legendary stage.

Grand Ole Opry Performances & Tickets

• Grand Ole Opry shows run Tuesdays at 7 p.m., Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Tuesday night shows are about two hours long, and Friday and Saturday shows run about two and a half hours. Show line-ups are announced on Wednesday of each week. Both the Grand Ole Opry House and the Ryman Auditorium are wheelchair accessible.
• Children younger than three years old are admitted free, and tickets for children between 4 years and 11 years old are $10 off the adult price. Group rates are also available.
