The Boxcars At Grand Ole Opry
The Boxcars is a bluegrass band that formed in late 2009. Made up of Adam Steffey (Mandolin), Ron Stewart (Banjo & Fiddle), John Bowman (Fiddle, Guitar, & Banjo), Keith Garrett (Guitar), and Harold Nixon (Bass), the very experienced performers have a very impressive rap sheet in the country/bluegrass world. The members have worked with Alison Krauss, Union Station, J.D. Crowe, New South, Blue Moon Rising, The Isaacs, and The Dan Tyminski Band.
Steffey’s signature rhythm, which has characterized his entire career, is combined with the unique style of contemporary bluegrass that makes this quintet one-of-a-kind. It’s a rarity to hear such talented players with such extensive resumes in one group but The Boxcars use their strong vocals and beautiful instruments to create fantastic contemporary bluegrass that is too good to turn down!
