Born February 6, 1962 in Lubbock, Texas, country artist Richie McDonald is the former lead singer of the band Lonestar. He formed the band in 1992 and performed with them until 2007. After which, he released an album of Christmas music, followed by his debut solo album, I Turn to You.

As a solo artist, McDonald has released five singles, two of which have charted in the Top 100. The singles, “How Do I Just Stop” and “Six Foot Teddy Bear,” narrowly missed the Top 50, both peaking at Number Fifty-One in 2009. His Christmas single, “Coming Home for Christmas,” reached Number Four on the U.S. Adult Contemporary charts in 2007.
 
McDonald has also written and co-written many hits for artists like Clay Walker, Billy Dean, Sara Evans and the band Heartland. With the group Lonestar, he has written almost thirty singles that have landed spots on the country charts.
