After competing on the popular television show American Idol, singer Phil Stacey gained recognition as a country artist. Born in January of 1978 in Harlan County, Kentucky, Stacey grew up singing in church before joining the Navy, where he was the lead vocalist for the Navy Band Southeast. After leaving the army, he auditioned for season six of American Idol, where he was eliminated during the Top 6 results episode. After the show, he signed with Lyric Street Records.
Stacey has released three studio albums, including his debut, self-titled album, which reached Number Eight on the Country charts. He has released four singles off two of those albums: “If You Didn’t Love Me,” “Inside Out,” “You’re Not Shaken” and “Some Kind of Love.” Three of those singles have charted on either the Country or the Christian charts.
