Lisa Marie Presley At Grand Ole Opry

Lisa Marie Presley At Grand Ole Opry

She may be the daughter of Elvis Presley, but Lisa Marie Presley has definitely broken out and created her own image. Born in February of 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee, Presley grew up living half of the time in Graceland with her father and the other half of the time in Beverly Hills with her mother. In 2003, she released her debut album, which reached Number Five on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Presley wrote all of the lyrics, with the exception of “The Road Between,” and co-wrote every melody. The album was certified Gold.

Presley has released two albums since, her 2005 Now What peaking at Number Nine on the charts. She has released several singles, including the Top 40 Adult Contemporary hit “Dirty Laundry,” also in 2005. Her single “Lights Out” charted on the U.S. Adult, U.S. Pop, Australian, New Zealand and United Kingdom charts.

Presley has received the Humanitarian Award for the World Literacy Crusade in 2002 for her work helping children in America learning valuable skills for study. In 2005, she was recognized with the Favorite Female rock Vocalist from the Association of Songwriters and Young Musicians. She has also been awarded in Tennessee for her charitable efforts with a day of recognition by the Governor, Bill Haslam.
