Country pop singer Lee Ann Womac was born in Jacksonville, Texas in August of 1966. Her single “I Hope You Dance,” released in 2000 was a huge crossover music hit, reaching the Top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, and Number One on the Country chart. The single also became her signature song. At Belmont University, Womac studied the commercial ways of the music business and interned at the A&R department of MCA Records.
