Born in Tifton, Georgia, country artist Kip Moore is fairly recent to the country music scene, but he is definitely on his way to making a name for himself in the industry. In 2004, Moore moved from his current home in Hawaii to Nashville, Tennessee, where Brett James, a songwriter and producer, helped him sign a publishing deal. For the next four years, he worked as a songwriter until signing with MCA Nashville for a recording contract.
In 2011, he released his first single, “Mary Was the Marrying Kind,” which was received with praise and peaked on the country charts at Number Forty-Five. The same year, he released the Number One hit “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck,” which was certified Platinum. In 2012, his single “Beer Money” also reached the Top 10.
Moore has also co-written two tracks for the duo Thompson Square, “All the Way” and “Let’s Fight.” The latter briefly charted on the Hot Country Songs chart, reaching the Top 60. He also co-wrote the single “Walking Contradiction” for James Wesley.
