Joanna Smith At Grand Ole Opry

Undeniably country, Joanna Smith had her sights set on country music since age 5. When her mother entered her in her first beauty pageant, the judge asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. She quickly answered, “Well I already am a country music singer … I just don’t get to get up on stage much.” She grew up on a farm in Crestview, Georgia and as she aged she never let go of her one true dream. At 18, she enrolled at Auburn University but after a year, she decided to take the gamble by moving to Nashville. She quickly landed a steady gig at Tootsie’s Orchid and spent the rest of her time writing, playing, and singing at home. It didn’t take long before she was offered a record contract from RCA Nashville. She has released two albums, Georgia Mud and Be What It Wants to Be. Her popular songs include, “Gettin’ Married,” “Georgia Mud,” and “We Can’t Be Friends.”
