Southern gospel duo Jeff and Sheri Easter met in 1984 during the Albert E. Brumley Sundown to Sunup Gospel Sing in Arkansas. At that time, Jeff was the bassist for the group the Singing Americans while Sheri (then Sheri Williamson) was with the group The Lewis Family. After the two were introduced, they married within the next ten months and began performing with Sheri’s group The Lewis Family. In 1988, however, they decided to pursue a career as a duo act.
Since their departure from the group, they have released several albums, like Homefolks, Picture Perfect Love, Life is Great and Gettin’ Better and Eyes Open Wide. On these and other albums, they have released songs like “I Know How It Feels To Survive,” “Working on a Road,” the Number One southern gospel single “Over and Over,” “Thread of Hope” and “She Loved.”
They have also won a number of awards throughout the years, including five Dove Awards, two Grammy nominations, three Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music Association Awards, two International Country GMA Awards and sixteen Voice Awards. They have also won four Hearts Aflame Awards and three Cash Box Awards, among others.
Jeff and Sheri also have been joined by their children, Madison on guitars and Morgan on vocals. They also have another daughter, Maura.
