Hats Off To Minnie At Grand Ole Opry

Grand Ole Opry member Minnie Pearl was one of the most iconic members in the show’s history. On Tuesday, October 12, 2012, the Opry recognized her during her 100th birthday celebration with the show “Hats off to Minne!” Pearl, who passed away in 1996, was a beloved comedienne who entertained fans for decades, and was a member of the Opry for over fifty years.

The special show featured vintage videos from throughout her career, as well as performances and remembrances from artists like Amy Grant, Pam and Mel Tillis, Vince Gill, Jimmy Dickens, Henry Cho, Anita Renfroe and T. Bubba Bechtol.
Minnie spent years caring for others, and, in honor of that, the Opry donated five dollars from every ticket purchase to The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, an organization dedicated to making the journey with cancer one that is easier for adults.
