The band Gloriana was formed by brothers Tom and Mike Gossin in 2008. The two were born in Utica, New York and began playing music at an early age; they both began taking classical piano lessons from age five on. The brothers played for a while in a band with their other brother, Stephen, before filming a reality service that lasted just a short time. Afterwards, Tom and Mike moved on to Nashville and began performing as a duo act. There, they met Rachel Reinert through her MySpace page, where she was working on her songwriting skills, and Cheyenne Kimball at a nightclub. Kimball won the top honor on the television talent show America’s Most Talented Kid when she was twelve.

After the four members were united, they began recording demos, one of which was sent to Emblem Records, who picked them up in 2008. In early 2009, they released the single “Wild at Heart,” which became the highest-selling country music debut single of the year. They also signed on to perform on Taylor Swift’s Fearless tour and released an extended play album in the same year. In August of 2009, they released their self-titled album, which peaked at Number Two on the Top Country Albums and Number Three on the Billboard 200. Their single “Wild at Heart” peaked at Number Fifteen. The next year, “Wild at Heart” was certified Gold. “The band’s next two singles, “How Far Do You Wanna Go?” and “The World Is Ours Tonight,” both peaked within the Top 40, as well.

In 2011, their single “Wanna Take You Home” led off to their second Number Two album on the Country charts, A Thousand Miles Left Behind. The single also reached the Top 40 on the charts. In July of the same year, Kimball departed from the group. Their fifth single, “(Kissed You) Good Night” was released in October, peaking at Number Two on the charts and also certifying Gold.

Gloriana has won a variety of awards during their career. In 2009, they won the American Music Award’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year and the CMT Nationwide on Your Side Award. In 2010, they won the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Vocal Group award. They have also been nominated for awards like the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Vocal Group and Top New Artist awards. They have also been nominated for the Teen Choice Awards’ Choice Country Group award.
