The band Florida Georgia Line is still fairly new to the country music community, but they are definitely on the right track to making a name for themselves. Formed by Brian Kelley, from Florida, and Tyler Hubbard, from Georgia, who met while attending Belmont University in Nashville, Florida Georgia Line released their first EP in December of 2010.
The extended play featured songs that were all written by either just Hubbard or bot Hubbard and Kelley and included songs like “You’re Country,” “Man I Am Today” and “Backwoods Beauty Queen.” The song “Black Tears,” which the album also consisted of, was recorded by Jason Aldean on his 2012 album Night Train.
Also in 2012, Florida Georgia Line released their five-song EP, featuring the song “Cruise,” which would go on to be re-released on their first studio album in December of the same year. “Cruise” became a Number One hit on the Country charts and was certified Platinum in the U.S. and Gold in Canada. Their second single, “Get Your Shine On,” was released in 2013 and reached Number Thirty on the charts.
