Daryle Singletary At Grand Ole Opry

Born to a postal worker and a hair dresser in 1971 in Cairo, Georgia, country artist Daryle Singletary grew up singing gospel music with his cousins and his brother. In high school, he began taking vocal lessons and, by the early 90s, he had moved to Nashville, where he pursued a career as a recording artist. Singletary got his big break while singing at an open-mic night the song “An Old Pair of Shoes.” Randy Travis later recorded that song and recommended Singletary to his management team.

After Singletary signed with Giant Records, he released his debut album in 1995. The self-titled album had four Top 50 singles, including Number Two hit “I Let Her Lie” and Number Four hit “Too Much Fun.” The following hear, he released his second Number Two hit with “Amen Kind of Love” off his second album. All of his singles released in the 90s have reached the Top 100.
Throughout his career, Singletary has released seven studio albums, including one Top 20 hit on the Country charts, Ain’t It the Truth.
