Casey James At Grand Ole Opry Country Music Show - Nashville
Texas-native, Casey James got his big break on season 9 of American Idol. His success started when he began playing guitar at age 13. In his youth, he played in The Casey James Band with his brother and friend. James wrote his first song “Freezing” for this band in 2002.
In 2010, James received 3rd place on the ninth season of American Idol. When asked, he said that he was happy to receive third place because it gave him extra time to work on his debut album. After the show, he toured the U.S. with Top 10 finalists before signing a contract with Sony Music Records in the latter part of 2010. He spent 2011 touring with other artists including Sugarland before touring on his own. His first single, “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night” was released in 2011 and sold 5,000 copies in the first week. He released his self-titled debut album in early 2012 of which he wrote 9 of the 11 tracks on the album. The album peaked at No. 2 on the Top Country Albums Chart. James most popular songs include, “Crying On a Suitcase,” “Undone,” “Tough Love,” and “Love the Way You Miss Me.”
James debuted at the Grand Ole Opry on January 27, 2012.
