"The plantation is beautiful"

The guide was both informative and funny. His sense of humour added to the tour. The plantation is beautiful - wish we would have spent a little more time there exploring the grounds. The winery is very cute and being able to taste and purchase some of their wines was a bonus. We ate at the restaurant on site and very much enjoyed the food as well.

Erica, our tour guide really made history come alive at belle meade! We felt like we really got to know the characters of the day and of course all the famous horses and their sires that resided there. This was our favorite tour in nashville and believe me, we did almost everything! I was there for spring break with my 24 year old twin girls who are in grad school. Thank you for a real introduction to the southern way of life. These california girls loved every minute of it!!!

It was nice and we did enjoy it however there actual riding off the segways was very limited. We went a short distance and stopped, went a few feet and stopped again. It would have been much more enjoyable to go longer distances and for a much longer time.

We had an amazing tour guide for the mansion tour. He was dressed in character and extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We also did the wine pairing, and the gal who ran this was amazing as well. The wine was great as were the pairings. Well done!

Tip: Do your pairing then lunch to avoid being too tipsy for your drive back to town!

We loved belle mead plantation. The tour guide definitely was a true historian, but while i appreciated his knowledge i didn't appreciate how arrogant he was about it. (he did comment that he normally didn't give tours and it was obvious he felt it was beneath him) other than that it was a 5 star tour and i would highly recommend going.

Enjoyed this tour a lot. Tour guides are dressed in period clothing and provided lots of stories and historical information. There was a nice wine tasting at the end of the tour. Plan about 4 hours at venue.

We did take the home tour and really enjoyed the guide in period costume. Our lunch at the bell meade restaurant, on the grounds, was one o the best meals we had while in nashville. You don't have to pay to eat as this restaurant or to walk the grounds. This was an afternoon well spent.

We spent so much time being lost on the freeways, and using a map that didn't work, following written directions, pulling over and getting directions, that we really didn't care if we ever made it there or not. Once we found the plantation, we settled down and mellowed out a bit. The tour was ok. It's not something i'd recommend, sorry. I've always wanted to see a southern plantation, but this fell short of my expectations. The historical information was good. The plantation part of the tour was a let down. I guess it just didn't feel like a real plantation, sorry.

The guides are fairly well educated and the history is interesting, but it's hard to find, there is no good parking, the buildings on site aren't marked well. The gift shop is overpriced and has nothing to do with history and the restaurant is only open 11 to 2. They seem to have put aside history in favor of society and the site suffers for that.
