Always Patsy Cline! Nashville, TN
Always Patsy Cline! Nashville, TN

The critically acclaimed musical Always Patsy Cline by Ted Swindley returns to the stage where country music legend Cline first rose to fame. Vocal powerhouse Mandy Barnett reprises her critically acclaimed turn as Patsy, and theatre veteran Tere Myers returns in the role of Louise Seger. Based on the true story of the friendship between Cline and her devoted fan, Louise Seger, the play takes its name from Cline's signature letters she wrote to Seger. The two women struck up a friendship in 1961 before a show Cline was performing in Houston, Mississippi. They corresponded until Patsy's death at age 30 in an airplane crash on March 5, 1963. Patsy signed every letter to Louise the same way, "Always... Patsy Cline."

The production features over 20 of Patsy's most memorable songs including "I Fall to Pieces," "Crazy," "Blue Moon of Kentucky," and "Sweet Dreams," which became a hit shortly after her death. Barnett, who originated the role at the Ryman, has received rave reviews over the years for her uncanny recreations of Cline's unique and unforgettable sound. Of Barnett's 2000 performance the Tennessean declared, "If you closed your eyes, Patsy Cline was there is the room with you."

Patsy Cline and Ryman Auditorium share a rich history. Cline made her Grand Ole Opry debut on the stage of the Ryman on July 1, 1955, becoming an Opry member there in 1960. When she first debuted "Crazy" on the Opry in 1961, she received three standing ovations.

RUN! Don't walk to get to this show! IT'S A MUST SEE!!!
First off, the photo captions are wrong - it's Mandy Barnett, not Heather Brand. I saw this show at least 6 times in 2000 and cannot wait to see it another 6 or more times in 2009!!! Do yourself a favor and do everything humanly possible to get your tickets to this show. Mandy Barnett and Tere Myers are superb! Before my first attendance to this show, I was told that the reviews claimed Mandy sings Patsy's songs better than Patsy herself. My reaction...'Yeah right! No one is better than Patsy Cline!' Well, from the first note, I was convinced. The hair on my arms didn't go down until well after we'd left the Ryman. I made it a point to get back to see the show as many times as I could - and I wasn't even living in TN at the time! I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to relive the experience with a greater appreciation for Ms. Barnett's talents!

Now that's a show Sarah!!
I went on a whim many years ago. I had a free evening on a business training trip in Nshville. I had no idea that this show would be so great. I hope to return and bring my wife and kids. The memories are priceless and the music was incredible.

Always...Patsy Cline
I saw this production in 2000 and I loved it, and Mandy Barnett wasn't even in it! Apprently, she was sick, and it was still a great show. I can't wait to see it again, and this time with Mandy Barnett! By the way, where has she been all this time? She's a great talent and I would love to see (hear) more of her!
