This Surfside Beach show, just outside of Myrtle Beach, features all of your favorite stars from the past and present.

Myrtle Beach was once called "Chicora" by Native Americans, meaning "the land;" little did they know that one day this 60-mile stretch of beaches and coastline would also be known as the Grand Strand, "Sportstown USA," and "beachside golf capital of the U.S." Myrtle Beach is truly a traveler's delight, with the perfect balance of entertainment and guided tours as well as plenty of outdoor activities.

Broadway at the Beach

One of Myrtle Beach's top entertainment centers is known as Broadway at the Beach. This 400-acre complex of restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues has something for everyone, and is located at the intersection of route 17 and 21st Avenue. Two of the best musical shows here are Legends in Concert./A>, where top celebrity impersonators become, from head to toe, your favorite musical stars, and The Carolina Opry.

At Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, you'll be served up a 4-course meal while you delight in the action-packed extravaganza of human and animal performers doing amazing tricks. If you're planning a visit during the holiday season, make sure you go to the famous 2,700-seat Palace Theatre, where you'll be treated to merriment and drama at The Nutcracker or Christmas at the Palace - A Holiday Extravaganza. One last show you definitely will not want to miss is Spirit of the Dance, an international dance show whose fame has swept the world; it features Irish step, tango, flamenco, salsa, tap and jazz by flawlessly-choreographed dancers sporting ornate costumes.

Beachfront Activities

After sitting down and enjoying the great entertainment at Broadway at the Beach, why not head on over to the REAL beach to stretch your legs and take advantage of the many water activities here, such as sailing, parasailing, jet-skiing, fishing (pier, shore and deep-sea), beachcombing, sand volleyball and kayaking.

For a room right on the water, book a stay at either the Quality Inn on the Shore or the Quality Inn Oceanfront, both loaded with amenities and in proximity to the beaches. If the lure of the open sea isn't thrilling enough for you, visit Myrtle Waves Water Park where you'll scream, laugh (and maybe even cry!) on 30 thrilling water rides.

Other Myrtle Beach Activities

Once you've had a chance to explore the area's beaches, creeks, and streams on your own, turn to some local professionals to clue you in on even more history and scenery. Aboard one of the vessels in the Hurricane Fleet, you'll have a chance to see shrimping boats, try your own luck at fishing, and maybe even see some playful dolphins enjoying the surf.

If a bird's-eye-view of Myrtle Beach is your idea of a soaring good time, hop on board a historical 1940 bi-plane at Classic Air Adventures for an aerial tour. The last way to tour Myrtle Beach is not by boat or plane, but by comfortable motorcoach: The Low Country Tour takes you on a 5-hour journey to Brookgreen Gardens, where you'll see 550 works of art in America's oldest sculpture garden.

Myrtle Beach has an endless list of things to do, no matter what time of year you choose to visit. Come for the beautiful beaches, exciting entertainment and attractions, and of course the Southern hospitality; you'll be glad you did!

I loved it
I go to Dixie Stampede every year I come to Myrtle Beach.... I look forward to coming to the show even though I have been at the show for the last 10 years. I love the food. Please never change the menu....

They served dinner with no utensils. My hubby had a small tizzy. They should at least ask if you want to eat with your fingers. He also has false teeth and likes to take his corn off of the cob. So that was that. I found it a bit messy, but ate the food, which was fairly good. I know they are in a hurry to get everyone fed, but even plastic wear would have been nice. The show was ok, but I expected more. Next time we will go to see Legends.
