Technically easy, the thirteen-mile loop trail still has a moderate rating for its physical demands as half of the surfaces are slickrock. Bikers will want to go in spring, fall, or winter as the summer heat is too extreme for comfort. A beautiful scenic trail, Monitor & Merrimac takes riders through a variety of terrain from open desert to steep slickrock, and offers great views of the Seven Mile Canyon area, the Halfway Stage Station, and the fossil quarry at the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail.
