Arches National Park is an extraordinary natural landscape of color, texture, and unusual land forms unlike anything else in the world. Over two thousand natural sandstone arches and many other rock formations reveal to visitors an astounding panorama of millions of years of geologic history. Home of the famed Delicate Arch, the park offers unlimited opportunities for exploration and outdoor activities, from auto touring and biking to climbing and hiking.
One of the many highlights is the Fiery Furnace, an intricate maze of narrow gullies made of eroded red- and cream-colored ridges. Visitors can take a three-hour ranger-led hike through the Furnace, as well as guided walks through various locations around the park. Experienced climbers and hikers can strike out on their own to explore the many trails and routes. The Devils Garden Campground is open year-round, though campers should be prepared for rustic living as facilities are limited.
