Description
You'll start off your tour at the Tag-A-Long office in Moab, before crossing the Colorado River and heading into Arches National Park. After visiting the breathtaking landmarks in Arches, you'll travel into Canyonlands National Park, where you can see evidence of ancient cultures. This 10-hour tour will give you the opportunity to spot out some of the most remarkable landscapes and landmarks.

You'll enter Arches National Park through a "back door" of sorts. The land was originally controlled by stockmen and still shows evidence of grazing. Since then, it has been both a National Monument and, now, a National Park. Your route through the park winds you through rock formations, forests, open spaces, sand dunes, arroyos and more. Make your way towards Balanced Rock, which is one of the three most significant landmarks in the park. Then, travel through Salt Valley towards Klondike Bluffs and Tower Arch. You'll travel over rugged terrain to a back country trail, where you can stretch your legs on a .6 mile hike underneath Tower Arch. After your guide takes the 4x4 through an exciting and intimidating trail to the Eye of the Whale, you'll head back to where you started in Arches, Willow Springs road.

Next, you'll travel to your second national park. The route into Canyonlands follows a picturesque country road that lays along the river. You'll spot out Anasazi Rock Art, and your guide will relay facts adn tales of the ancient cultures, history, natural history and the geology of the area. Jug Handle Arch and the White Rim of Canyonlands National Park are two more spots you'll see along the way, as well as incredible views of the Colorado River. You'll make your way to Shafer Trail at the rim of the Island in the Sky region, then return back to Moab, with the rock formations of the Monitor and Merrimac ending your trip.
