Perhaps one of the most well known features about the Walker Art Center is that its management is quick to make decisions so that the best, the most controversial and the most in demand exhibits are available here. A large variety of traveling exhibitions are on display throughout the year. In addition, there is a large collection of art including prints and paintings, multi media productions, sculptures and much more. Each of these collections is displayed in one of the nine white walled galleries located throughout the building. These white walls wash out the backdrop, giving each piece a very unique ability to make its own statement. The galleries are large allowing for larger or smaller exhibits comfortably.
Some of the collection pieces found here including well known and little known artists such as Willem de Kooning, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Mark Rothko, Franz Marc and Joan Mitchell.
