Thomas Sadler Roberts Bird Sanctuary in Minneapolis, MN is actually in Lyndale Park Gardens and is the perfect place to see the many spring birds as they come out of migration. The warblers are usually a source of interest to many that come here. The Thomas Sadler Roberts Bird Sanctuary is located on Roseway Road in Minneapolis. The front entrance to the this place of interest is at the new visitor's shelter. For those that are unfamiliar with this it's right across from the parking lot of Lyndale Park Gardens. You'll be able to get an guidebook for the sanctuary in the shelter. This sanctuary is located on a 13-acre site and has an unpaved trail that is accessible for wheelchairs.
Although "bird watching" seems to many to be a hobby of the past or of the bored, many people find great enjoyment in the Thomas Sadler Roberts Bird Sanctuary. It is also listed as a place of interest on many tourist's vacation plans. Many people look forward to going here in the spring so they can see the many Warblers. In the summer and fall, you can see many other birds such as soras, woodpeckers, vireos, wood ducks and the great blue herons. Children love coming here to see all the different varieties and love taking pictures. Free tours are available every Tuesday during the months of April and May. They are sponsored b the Minnesota Audubon Society. Not only is admission free but parking is free as well. This will definitely be some of the cheapest but most fun entertainment you've had in the area.
