The Metrodome is home to Minneapolis' Minnesota Vikings football franchise and the Twins baseball organization. And despite the bumps that the Vikings franchise has had in recent history, the fall season still offers a great time of professional football for locals and visitors alike. While the Vikings have lost what was left of their only true star power in quarterback Daunte Culpepper, the team has held a consistent record over the last few years, and will be looking to function completely as a team to win this season.
On the plus side, this sense of unity and lack of big name talent may be just what the Vikings need to break through from mediocrity, and into the NFL post season. This should also translate into a very blue-collar style of play that is sure to impress fans with an emphasis on "us" as opposed to "me." Of course, with all that being said, it's not as if the Vikings are a team filled with chumps and second-rate stars. Players such as quarterback Brad Johnson and defensive lineman Pat Williams are both proven veterans who are more than capable of helping to make the Vikings a cohesive unit.
