The Figure Skating Academy is run by experts and the Arena has been given national recognition as a outstanding training center. The training is based on the US Figure Skating Basic Skills Program including free skating, working in pairs, synchronized skating and hockey playing. There are classes for young children and adults, and for beginner and more advanced levels.
The Kendal Ice Arena has a pre-hockey program for those with some skating experience. The Arena's figure skaters attend competitions and ice shows, as well as seminars and clinics offered by the venue. The hockey program caters for all ages and ability level. There is a youth and adult league formed three times a year, and other classes include stick and puck to improve stick-handling and adult pick up hockey. There is an off-ice mirrored studio where a variety of classes are held including jump training, ballet, and off-ice conditioning.
Public skating sessions are available every day, with late night opening on Friday and Saturday nights. There is a DJ providing the music to skate to on Friday through Sunday nights. A combined family ticket for 49 can be purchased for Sunday evening skating. The Ice Arena caters for children's birthday parties and include skate rental and admission, snacks, balloons and invitations, music, and an announcement for everyone on the rink to hear.
