You will get to tour dining cars, railroad engines, real Pullmans and even the Ferdinand Magellan, a luxury railroad cat that was originally built for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Other Presidents like Truman, Eisenhower, Bush and Reagan also used this luxury railroad car. It was virtually destroyed in 1992 by Hurricane Andrew but was restored to its former glory and is a perfect specimen for the museum. Every year the museum has a Thomas the Train event and each weekend they host model train building. The museum even has a children's interactive area so that they can indulge their curiosity about the trains too. Admission for the Gold Coast Railroad museum is $5.00 for people 12 years and older while children ages 3 to 12 are only $3.00. If you wish to ride some of the trains, then of course that will be extra. They have three different train ride options but they are all approximately 20 minute rides in length. While they do not have a formal concession, you can get sodas and souvenirs in the gift shop.
