Virginia Miller has been detrimental in the promotion of art exhibits as well as helping her clients with all aspects of their art careers. She has shown around 300 different art exhibits in many different locations. Some of the artists she has displayed are Maria Gato, Heriberto Mora, Humberto Castro, Wifredo Lam and many more. In the past year, the ArtSpace/Virginia Miller Gallery displayed work by Humberto Castro, who is a Cuban artist for the '1980s Generation'. Castro has studied art and exhibited work along with Jose Bedia and Tomas Sanchez before he left for Paris. Virginia Miller has the careers of many artists in the last 35 years, helping them to expand their talents and techniques for a successful career in art. The artists she has helped are beginners, intermediate as well as successful modern artists. She has displayed work of all different levels. One display that has been shown in the gallery that raised many eyebrows was the one-person exhibition by Fernando Luis, an exhibit of lewd priests and pregnant nuns. Miller did not start her career in the world of art. She worked for a bank and law firm before opening an advertising agency and returning to college. She became friendly with many struggling artists that complained that local galleries would only display work of famous successful artists. With the business background she possessed, she began organizing small exhibitions in local banks and other businesses as a way to help beginning artists. One of her great intuitive exhibits in 1978 was a compilation of artist Alice Neel's work that spanned from 1926 to 1977, which became an almost instant success. Since that time, the gallery has exhibited many extremely large pieces of work, being the first to display many of that particular kind. One example in the exhibits of photographers from the 19th and 20th centuries such as William Henry Fox Talbot, the man that invented the photographic negative or the first woman photographer, Anna Atkins. Miller is also responsible for commissioning a 36'x78' bronze sculpture on Biscayne Bay as well as a 60' tall sculpture at the Omaha International Airport. Both of these bronze sculptures are the largest ones in the nation.
