The Merida ComprehensiveIf you're planning on spending a week or more in Merida, why not see some of the best that the city has to offer? With the Merida Comprehensive Vacation Package you'll not only get seven night's lodging in any of Merida's hotels offered on our website, but you'll also get admission to all of the exciting attractions mentioned below. To get to know the city in which you are staying, why not start your vacation off with the Merida City Tour. On this tour your guide will give you the history of the "White City" while showing you the colonial area located in the city. After viewing structures dating back to the 16th century, you'll then be returned to the more modern part of Merida, where you can spend time strolling the streets and shopping. If you've a desire to get out of the city and see the more natural part of the Yucatan area, then the Celestun Tour With Boat Trip on the Ria might be right up your alley. On this tour you'll explore the wetlands around Merida and see the multitudes of wildlife supported by the area's unique climate conditions. After seeing exotic animals like pink flamingos, you'll be whisked to Celestun Beach where you can frolic in the water for the remainder of the day. Seeing Uxmal and Kabah is a once in a lifetime experience, so you should definitely have some choice when traveling there. Choose between touring these ancient Mayan sites in the daylight, or see Uxmal at night with the intense Light and Sound Show. During the day tour you'll be taken to both Uxmal and Kabah and see the amazing pyramids and other structures built by the Mayans. During the evening tour you'll see Uxmal in a whole new light as the pyramids are illuminated with lasers and other lights. Dinner is included with the evening tour, as well. The same concept applies when visiting Izmal. You could opt for the Izmal Day Tour. Izmal was the epicenter of the ancient Mayan civilization and this fantastic archeological site yields thousands of artifacts dating back thousands of years. The "City of the Hills" features five huge pyramids and other fabulous architectural marvels. You'll tour the city in a horse drawn carriage with a knowledgeable guide. The Izmal Night Tour includes most of what you'll see during the day tour, as well as dinner at a popular restaurant and an illumination show. Another interesting tour offered in the Merida area is the Puuc Route and Loltun Caverns Tour. During this activity you'll see the ruins of three Mayan cities, stopping at each site. Often compared to the ruins of Rome and Greece, these cities are breathtaking. You'll then travel to the Loltun Caverns, which is one of the largest cave systems in the area. These caves also feature paintings that date back to the Ice Age! How amazing! |
